Virgin Atlantic has seen record demand for its cabin crew recruitment drive
Virgin Atlantic has received more than 3,000 applications for 500 jobs since the airline announced its cabin crew recruitment drive earlier this month.
The number of people seeking a job has been so high that Virgin has had to give extra staff to its human resources department to cope with the record level of demand.
Head of resources Alex Merrylees said: "We are seeing hundreds of applicants coming through each day from all over the UK. We have had applications from accountants, dentists, models and even traffic wardens. The standard is extremely high and it's going to be a tough job to go through them all."
The new jobs will be based at Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
