Historical Property Value

Property Value is a household level segmentation based on house price data and actual council tax bands for each residential property in England, Wales and Scotland (Northern Ireland does not use the Council Taxation system). Property Value is a modelled value which calculates the estimated current property value i.e. potential sale price in March 2007. See also Historical house prices. Historical House Prices

Historical House PricesResidential Property Transaction data is built using information supplied by HM Land Registry (sectors within England and Wales) and Registers of Scotland (RoS).For England and Wales, the data is supplied as quarterly sales volumes for each of 24 price bands and for four types of property - Detached, Flats/Maisonettes, Semi-Detached and Terraced. Information is available for each quarter since Quarter 1 (January - March), 1995 to Quarter 4 (October - December), 2007.For Scotland, the data is supplied as quarterly sales volumes for each of 22 price bands. The data is not split by type of property. Also Registers of Scotland does not supply data for sales at or below £20,000. Information is available for all quarters from Quarter 4, 2000 to Quarter 1, 2007. The figures are based on close to a full (100%) sample of the residential property transactions that have occurred within the quarterly time period and, as such, provide a much more comprehensive picture of the housing market than statistics relating to individual mortgage lenders.
