Current accounts: Halifax relaunches £100 switching bonus
Apply to move your current account over to Halifax and you could pocket £100 as a welcoming bonus!
Halifax has relaunched its £100 switching bonus for new current account customers.
If you apply through Halifax’s website or through the bank’s branches, you will pocket £100 that very day. That’s a lot quicker from switching bonuses from other banks, which typically require you to have the account for a couple of months first.
The switching bonus was first offered back in January, and clearly helped sell Halifax’s accounts to the general public – the bank claims 80,000 people switched to Halifax in the first quarter of this year, almost double the number moving during the first quarter of 2011.
This latest bonus runs until 15th July.
When it comes to current accounts, I’m a big fan of Halifax’s Reward Account. You can find out why in Earn £60 a year from an empty current account!
Get £200 from First Direct
Halifax is not the only bank offering a switching bonus. You can also get £100 from First Direct for taking out the bank’s award-winning 1st Account. And if you don’t like the account or the service you receive, if you choose to leave within the first 12 months you’ll get ANOTHER £100.
So £100 for an account that you like or £200 if you choose to move on!
