The Brixton pound is celebrating its second anniversary by launching a new set of notes featuring famous former local residents. Academic and activist Lenford Kwesi Garrison is on the £1 note, Chicago Bulls and Great Britain basketball star Luol Deng is on the fiver, David Bowie (in Aladdin Sane make-up) is on the £10 and second world war secret agent Violette Szabo is on the £20.

What a croc o sh1t, if the local people want to spend money locally they don't need a toy town money to do so, I am on my way down to collect one of the b£20 notes and believe me if it can be forged easy it will better than wining the lottery

Playwright Sarah Kane was a notable Brixtonian. Hope she is honoured by having her portrait on one of the notes one day.

Delighted to see Violette Szabo on there. Her biography by her daughter Tania, "Young, Brave and Beautiful", is a fascinating read.

I don't get this at all our currency is the great English pound how did someone let this happen what next if you don't like the pound go and live some where else
