Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the most important Beatles album - musically, conceptually and visually. At Christmas 1967, to celebrate the huge success of the LP, Capitol executives in the US took things to another level by having a designer retool the cover, replacing the heads of The Beatles and most of their idols with the faces of Capitol executives, although Sonny Liston and Bob Dylan survived.

It is estimated that there were only 100 copies of this cover printed, each given to the executives concerned. There are three known copies in collectors' hands.

My wife has an 'almost-new' white-Beatles stereo album - with the poster inserts intact in their original folds. - Reading the MSN values we 'leapt' [ well staggered ] for the cupboard to find that Her sleeve is of the embossed version, in quite good condition [ for 40 yr-old ] but is un-numbered.....  The records have been played but are unscratched - could do with a 'clean-up'.

Any views of the 'value' as stated ? ?  She has visions of a new-car - I'd settle for a bicycle but, it's her record..... 'a-musical'  Dave

nfortunately, all these records are only worth the valuations if they & the cover are in pristeen condition. Even the slightest scratch or dog-eared edge will devalue it massively. So if it's not perfect, don't get your hopes up too high.......

My partnew has the beatles sargent pepper's lonely hearts club band in original sleeve, so where can she get it valued, and who might buy it from her? She also has boxed limited edition sets, e.g the motown story, ELO 4 album set, blue vinyl edition of classical rock. Are these valuable too?

I have a copy of a record - 12 inch - by the Shadows. It is vinyl and has two tacks on only one side that run simultaneously to each other. I does mean that when the stylus goes onto the record it will perhaps pick the same track up each time and you would never hear the other track. The tracks are "Theme from the Deer Hunter" and "Don"t Cry For Me Argentina" issued by EMI.

I bought the record in a store in Holland a few years back. I have not seen this type of record listed for value purposes.

Ant thoughts.

I am delighted to say that I have none of these sleeves and have never had any.

There can be nothing worse than knowing that you had something valuable and gave it away, probably to some twit who delivered it on to the bin.

(I took a specially ordered black sleeved copy of Genesis's "From Genesis to Revelation" (IN MONO) to Russia once.

Still, you can't hold on to everything.

Peace.

Same scam as always. I've got loads of Albums in perfect condition but can't get rid of them so they just stay in the box. Tried everything but unless you pay no one helps.

Years and years ago, before I realised vinyl could be valuable, I sold a Beatles White Album at a car boot for £2. How gutted am I! Ever since, I've held on to my vinyl but nothing I have seems to be valuable. GRRRRRRRRR!

I have a record 33 and a third RPM from the BBC Transcription Service. Extracts from Speeches by Sir Winston Churchill. It also states, For use only upon the death of Sir Winston Churchill. May be broadcast ONCE only from any one aerial. Any one heard of it

Sold a mono Stones 1st album in excellent condition recently on Ebay for about £25. Look on Ebay for values - they are worth only what someone is willing to pay. An original T2 "It'll all work out in Boomland"  is worth over £200; Roy Harper's 1st album on the orginal label is worth maybe £300 - both need to be in excellent condition.
