Signing up to an annual direct debit payment plan from your energy supplier is supposed to help prevent bill shock as your payments are spread equally throughout the year. But it might not work like that...
We look inside some of the most beautiful homes in the US, as chosen by the AIA.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has identified the 10 best homes in the US. Here, we take a look inside a few of our favourites to see what all the fuss is about.
Note that the AIA hasn't simply chosen the biggest and most expensive homes, but rather those that exemplify excellence in design and, well, just make you want to move in right away.

quite interesting!....last comments seem a bit harsh. The thing about architecture is that it is so subjective......one persons dream is another's nightmare...and I suspect that the owners of these houses are quite happy.'The good/important thing is that most of the designs seem to integrate an aspect of ""green"" design not so common in Classical designs (though not impossible). Flat roofs don't always leak...maybe ""Rob"" is just designing them wrong/poorly - we have done plenty which have not leaked....should we only do pitched roofs. I love the simplicity of most of the interiors. Yes, the UK has plenty of equally good stuff.....where is the top 10 of the UK??..next article??

Oh hum run of the mill uninspiring boxes again..... Decor ugh not for me thank you. Flat roofs ALWAYS LEAK!!!! A 4 year old has more imagination with lego. Just going to have to look again just cant believe how bad they all are. Nothing of the classic in any of them. No even more awful than I first thought. Using a blue filter on a camera lens does not make a building blue and anyway why blue?? Whats with the stilts?? Last time I saw stilts that long was in a film called the dark crystal now there was real imagination in that film. So what should we do with Architects who design such unimaginative crap?? Easy, send them to work in Bolivia. Do they ever mention Bolivia on NBC?? Of course not (unless there is a military coup). Having criticized this article I suppose you think I am a crank and an idiot. Oh well there it is. Could I do better? Oh yes!! Steel and Concrete should be used only in constructing factories . Glass should be used carefully unless you wish to be seen as some one elses live entertainment. Flat roofs are fine where the rain fall averages less than one and a half inches a year which rules out most of the major population centres of the United States.
