Lonely hearts scams

Regarding credit card fraud, I think you couldn't be more wrong! The UK is far behind most european countries. In Spain you CANNOT use a credit card in any shop without showing photo ID. So you shouldn't be worried on holiday, you should be worried at home! The UK, as always, think they lead the pack but they are again so so wrong!

On the 1st February this year I decided the BBC had ripped me off enough, I told them NO MORE LICENCE AS I AIN'T GONNA WATCH TV ANY MORE.

I bought hundreds of videos off Ebay for pennies, got hundreds more for nothing off my local FREECYCLE, still get DVD's when they hit budget prices.

Got i-player on the internet for almost every channel which I am permitted to watch.

£150 saved and you know, I have watched 4 movies in 4 months on video/DVD and ONE TV program on i-player, I do not miss that F*Ck1nG box one bit, life is wonderful again.

As Janiep7 said - Asian call centre saying he was a 'Windows tenchician' and my computer was infected by viruses. When I said I had high level security on my computer he said it wasn't working!!! I said since he knew so much about my computer to send me an e-mail about it..... he said he couldn't as my computer would have crashed by the morning. If I just logged in he could go through all the steps with me to clear all the viruses off the drives.......  (or introduce one??? ) In the end I just put the phone down having got bored by the silly little man who obviously assumed I was born yesterday!!

I read this exact 'report' this time last year. Verbatim. (that's word for word as you obviously have no clue about journalism or editing)

 

Do you know how I know this? Because I made this same comment then, as it was repeated from the year before!!!

One scam not mentioned is a cold calling company from Kolcatta claiming my computers are infected with malware and spyware....after being talked thru my computer's event log and inf log and being told that all the files which were actually the computer's hidden programme files were "to multiply and damage the computer if deleted" also they tried to get me to enter some password on my laptop which thankfully didn't work....I was looking at the company's webpage and reviews while they were talking me thru....and it turned out to be a scam. they try to get stuff on your pc while talking tech crap then they want to sell their anti-malware protection stuff for something like £20 a week.....No!!!!! I wasn't born yesterday....beware of Indian cold-calling centres who claim to have received error messages from your computer!!!! Look up www.greybytes.net

Scams of the summer, lets see: BBC extorting the British public so that it can fund the likes of: Linekar- Graham norton and it's rather forgettable brand of tv, yep all 10 channels, do we have a say, is this democratic?THE GOVERNMENT and all its reformed /undetected criminals/.

U really need look no further, then again that would require : effort, dare I say any palpable level of journalistic integrity. thanks for providing the toilet lid...MSN never lets you down 

Well, I have used my credit card in Spain but have never been asked for photo ID!

I've been approached by two companies over the past with this scam. I checked them out with companies house and discovered both had not submitted any accounts. When I pointed this out to them all the calls stopped ! !
